Our woven Findor fabric is felted and dyed at Sjuhäradbygdens Färgeri in Kinna, a family business that specialises in fabric dye and finishings.
Johan Engelman is the CEO and head of Production of Sjuhäradbygdens Färgeri. He the fourth generation running the factory. It has been open since 1935 and they now have 25 employees. Sjuhäradbygdens Färgeri focuses on dyeing textiles and other textile treatments such as felting.
Our woven Findor wool fabric was felted at Sjuhäradbygdens Färgeri. When felting a fabric many things determine how the felted fabric will turn out. The wool quality, the weave and the amount of time it is felted. After many tests we finally achieved the best result for a naturally wind and water resistant fabric.
After felting, they dye the fabric. All their dyes are OEKO-TEX® certified and they have a strict cleaning system for their waste water. The factory runs on renewable energy and they focus on sustainability in every process. For example they reuse hot air to heat water for dyeing.
